Matcha 938 is comprised of the entire tea leaf which is usually stronger than conventional green tea. Matcha’s unique nutrient composition is due to the shade-grown method, which leads the plants to produce more caffeine and theanine.

The second stage involves hand-picking, steaming, and air drying only the finest and greenest pieces, followed by steaming and air drying. The steaming procedure keeps the leaves from oxidizing, retaining their bright color as well as the amino acids and other important components. A blower is also used to dry the matcha and remove the air and water components.

Matcha is made by de-veining and de-stemming the leaves to ensure that only the purest leaves are used. In order to reach the greatest level of tea, the tea is tested and accurately labelled before being kept in a refrigerated chamber.

Grinding is the next step in matcha manufacture, which results in a fine and consistent powder composition. The matcha powder is vacuum packaged before being kept in a warehouse.

Additional Information

Green tea's health advantages come from the presence of natural antioxidants like polyphenols, which are a diverse group of compounds that account for up to 30% of the dry weight of green tea.

Polyphenols are thought to be extremely potent antioxidants, with antioxidant properties comparable to vitamins C and E, as well as carotene and tocopherol. Polyphenols with a high polyphenolic content can scavenge free radicals more effectively than vitamin C. Camellia sinensis leaves contain naturally occurring phenolic chemicals. As a result, matcha can be considered a key source of catechins in the regular human diet.
