Matcha 937 is a powder form of high-grade green tea. Instead of steeping, the green tea powder is mixed into hot water to make a creamy drink. The foundation of the Japanese traditional tea ceremony is the meditative act of making, presenting, and sipping matcha.

Hand-picking, steaming, and air drying just the finest and greenest items are the second stage, which is followed by steaming and air drying. The steaming method prevents oxidation of the leaves, preserving their vivid green colour as well as the amino acids and other essential components. A blower is also used to dry and remove the air and water content of the matcha.

Basically, to ensure that only the purest leaves are used to manufacture matcha, the leaves are de-veined and de-stemmed. The tea is checked and precisely labelled before being maintained in a refrigerated chamber to achieve the highest level of tea.

The next step in matcha production is grinding, which provides a fine and consistent powder structure. Before being stored in a warehouse, the matcha powder is vacuum packed.

Additional Information

Matcha is made up of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), epigallocatechin (ECC), epicatechin gallate (ECG), and epicatechin, which are the catechin type's major active components and are found in the highest concentrations in plant sources.

Catechins obtained from tea show potent antioxidant activity because they can neutralize free radicals and increase the detoxifying activity of the enzymes including glutathione peroxidase, catalase, and glutathione reductase, indicating their importance in cellular redox homeostasis.
