Hojicha Tea Extract Powder is prepared from quality green tea that has been roasted at a high temperature to a rich toasted brownish colour and aroma.

Hojicha is made by roasting processed tea till it becomes brown at around 200 C. Its processing procedure was proposed to enjoy low-quality tea and was primarily used on stem tea and Bancha (common tea). Hojicha is generally considered to be of great quality if it comes from the Ichibancha (first selected tea) that is harvested late in the first season. “Stem Hojicha,” a roasted high-grade stem tea, is another high-grade option.
