Green tea extract powder is formed from dried tea leaves that have been finely powdered and have a moderate astringent flavour. It’s suitable for both hot and cold beverages.

Plucking and trimming are two stages of the harvesting process. The plucking of tea leaves from the bushes is an important step in obtaining a higher-quality tea following processing. Following the plucking, the bushes are pruned to remove the top layer of congestion.

After harvesting, withering is the initial processing stage to lower the water content of the leaves, followed by leaf maceration to encourage and speed up oxidation. In order to enhance tea flavour and provide a long shelf life, the green tea extract powder is prepared using the conventional method (CTC) and spray drying.

Additional Information

The tea produces a clear, yellowish-green to light brownish beverage when brewed. Tea's antioxidants may help to protect cells from oxidative stress. Furthermore, green tea extract is calorie-free, making it ideal for dieters.
